I’ve been focussed on printing and carving this month so have had lots of time to think and feel as I carry out the repetitive and meditative processes that my printmaking gifts me.
I’ve made multiple big connections with my subconscious as I’ve drawn and printed, on repeat, the motifs that are central to my work .
And then, big feelings I wasn’t expecting after the death of my maternal Grandmother.
All relating back to the art. All helping me to understand the power in creating this work that I do.
I hope that you find sparks of connection in these deeply personal musings, whether they be sparks that inspire you to explore your own interpersonal stories through your own art or sparks that open you up to deciding to relate deeper in your life in some way that might lead to a creation or an expression down the track.
Art heals. Art connects. Making art is innately human. Humans are innately expressive. Humans are innately emotional.
